Offering Data science research in three locations. Research programs that enhance the relevance of academic research to business and society.
How we work
We align the current knowledge infrastructure of Data Science Center Eindhoven (DSC/e) and Data Science Center Tilburg (DSC/t) and create a new research and innovation hub in ‘s-Hertogenbosch; Data Science Center Den Bosch (DSC/db).
Within this triangle DSC/db acts as the valorization and innovation hub of JADS. Most of the fundamental research on data science is performed in DSC/e and DSC/t. From security to privacy, from ethical issues to visualization, and from data science research methods to IP to name a few. Within this triangle DSC/db does fundamental research on the entrepreneurial, innovative and organizational aspects of data science. Topics such as data science start-ups, data science teams, data science organizational capabilities and data science decision making are typically studied in Den Bosch.
JADS Research Themes
JADS is characterized by one overall theme and six dedicated themes.

Here we aim to understand in which areas of the data value chain value is destroyed or created. Does the potential value of data science reside in the uniqueness of the data, in the algorithms applied to the data, in the visualization and the services created, or in the uniqueness of a business model?
Six specialized themes link to the industrial and societal strengths of North-Brabant adding relevance via research and valorization services. These include:
