In this program, you will learn what data science and AI can mean for your public organization. You will gain the language, insight and practical tools to work more effectively with data specialists, policy teams and decision-makers, and to help guide data projects responsibly. During the program, you will work individually or in a small team on a project that aligns with the goals of your own organization.
What is this program?
Digitalization for government is a post-master’s program for professionals in the public sector who want to better understand data science and AI, and apply them in their own work context.
You do not need to be a data specialist. The program is designed for professionals who connect societal challenges, policy, implementation, data and technology. You will learn to recognize opportunities, ask sharper questions and act as a stronger commissioner of data projects.
The public context is central throughout the program. This means technology is always considered in relation to public values, legal frameworks, organizational questions and its impact on citizens and society.

Why this matters
Many public organizations want to make better use of data and AI. In practice, this is often complex. Which data can be used? Who is responsible for what? How do you weigh public values? And how do you prevent a data project from being technically interesting, but having little effect on policy or implementation?
This program helps you take a sharper look at the role of data science and AI within your organization. You will learn to recognize opportunities, identify limitations and work more effectively with people in policy, implementation, decision-making and data. This helps you translate digitalization into choices that are responsible in terms of content, organization and societal impact.
