From AI-generated code to understanding and control
Generative AI can create program code within seconds. This makes it easier to experiment with scripts, automations and simple programs. But code that works once is not automatically correct, secure or maintainable.
In this three-day masterclass, you will learn the foundations of programming with Python. You will learn to read, write, test and adjust code with more confidence. This gives you more control over AI-generated code, simple automations and conversations with developers, data analysts or technical vendors. This program will be thaught in Dutch only.
What is this masterclass?
The Masterclass Programming with Python is a three-day program for professionals without programming experience who want to understand and use Python.
You will build the foundations of programming step by step. First, you learn to understand the logic behind code. Then you work with the key building blocks of Python, such as variables, functions, lists, loops and decision logic.
This masterclass will not train you to become a developer in three days. You will build a foundation that helps you understand simple code, create small applications and assess AI-generated code more critically.
Why this matters
More professionals are working with digital processes, data analysis or technical projects. As a result, you may come across scripts, automations and code more often, even without a technical background.
Generative AI lowers the threshold for creating code, but it does not independently assess whether that code fits your goal, data and work environment. With basic programming knowledge, you can better recognize what a program does, where errors may occur and which questions to ask before using code.
This is useful when you want to build a simple solution yourself, and when you collaborate with developers, data analysts or vendors.

Program
The masterclass consists of three sessions. You will build a programming foundation in Python step by step.
November 27, Session 1: Foundations of programming
You learn how programming works as a form of problem-solving and how program code is structured. You explore the relationship between programming and generative AI, and work with values, data types, variables, expressions and statements.
December 4, Session 2: From building blocks to working code
You learn how to combine programming concepts into simple, readable Python code. You work with functions, program structure, lists, loops, booleans and if-statements to process data, automate repetitive tasks and add decision rules.
December 12, Session 3: Testing, improving and developing code further
You learn how to investigate errors in code systematically and how to test and improve existing code. You work with debugging, dictionaries and an application in which Python is used to give tasks to a generative AI model. You finish with practical guidance to continue practicing independently.
