Tuesday the 21th of June our event Sport & Big Data took place at the Maaspoort Sport & Events in 's-Hertogenbosch. More than 75 people; business relations, colleagues and professionals in the field of Sport & Big Data, attended this JADS-event.
Objective of the event was to bring together science, business and sport professionals to network, transfer knowledge and inspire collaboration. Chairman of the day and scientific director of JADS, prof. dr. Arjan van den Born started off with a clear introduction of JADS. Followed by prof. dr. ir. Aarnout Brombacher who elaborated on the use of real-time personal data to better understand relations between vitality/sports achievements and activity patterns during the day and also before, during and after sports activities. Afterwards, dr. Roger Leenders, professor social and behavioral sciences, and expert in the field of team/ group performances spoke about how to develop high performance sport teams through network analysis and other statistical innovations. And last but not least, Marc Lammers - former field coach of the Dutch and Spanish women’s national field hockey team. His inspiring talk was about his innovative and modern way of coaching, using new coaching methods, data analysis and audiovisual equipment to help secure the 2008 Olympic women's hockey gold medal. After the talks there was time to network and exchange experiences. We look back on a successful day. If you missed this event, please join us at the next one: Dance & Big Data, 7th of September! Program will be published on the website shortly.
