Biography

Werner Liebregts is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at JADS. He has obtained his PhD in Economics from Utrecht University in March 2018. He previously held several positions as a quantitative researcher at (applied) scientific research institutes in the Netherlands, viz. EIM Business and Policy Research and TNO.

His research combines the data science and entrepreneurship disciplines in the following two ways: (1) Investigating how (big) data and AI enable entrepreneurs to reach higher levels of data maturity and (2) applying state-of-the-art data science methods and techniques to better address conventional entrepreneurship research questions. In sum, he is particularly interested in how entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship scholars can leverage data science for new value and new knowledge creation, respectively.

Werner also proudly supervises theses and coordinates courses on, amongst others, corporate entrepreneurship and startup entrepreneurship, both at the undergraduate and at the graduate level.
