Slim Samenleven Dagen 2025: How does data help you age more vitally?

Posted on

How do you stay healthy, active and connected when everything around you is becoming increasingly digital? During the Slim Samenleven Dagen 2025 on Friday May 9 and Saturday May 10, you will discover how technology and data contribute to ageing well. With inspiring lectures, workshops, smart applications and conversations about digital participation, there is something for everyone. Young or old, digitally proficient or not.

Joint approach to digital inclusion

The Slim Samenleven Dagen is an initiative of the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, which is committed to a future where digitization works for everyone. Whether you are struggling with digital tools, or just curious about new technology for home or care, this event brings people, ideas and solutions together. The central question this year: How can we work together to enable citizens to age happily and independently?

There is a special focus on the elderly, informal caregivers, care professionals and residents who want to continue living independently at home. But students, school pupils and anyone with an interest in health and digitalization are also welcome.

JADS provides input from research and practice

JADS is hosting one of the lectures on Friday, May 9. Prof. Dr. Aarnout Brombacher will speak from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Keep Moving Smart – Lessons from Movement Data from Sport. He will show how wearables and sports data are used to analyze behavior and health. What can you learn from elite athletes if you want to stay fit? And how do you apply those insights in the face of aging or illness?

The lecture offers an accessible look at how technology helps with vitality, whether you’re training toward the Vestingloop or just looking for ways to stay active later in life.

Health & vitality: a growing field of research

At JADS, we conduct research into how data science contributes to healthier lives. We work with healthcare institutions, companies and governments on solutions that help people to live independently for longer, move better and receive adequate care. We do this in these projects, among others:

  • iHRIS – smart data analysis for fall prevention in the elderly
  • COMFORTage – technology to age comfortably
  • TREAT – personalized care based on data
